Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar investigated the viral footage and found the claim to be misleading.

The video is indeed real and recent, but it was shot during the Houthis military exercise recently.

The Footage Shows Houthis Military Exercise

The original video, published by Houthi media, showcased a military exercise titled "Jerusalem Our Destination." It involved specialized units from the Sixth Military Region Reserve associated with the Houthis and took place on March 9 and 10. This exercise was conducted as part of the group's readiness for the anticipated victory battle and holy jihad, as stated by the Ansarallah Houthi group.

The maneuver simulated the infiltration of Israeli enemy positions in the Negev Desert and the seizure of settlements in Dimona, as well as the virtual camps and command centers of the Israeli enemy.

The maneuver also simulated American and British supply to the Zionist enemy and set up various ambushes to target American and British reinforcements for the Zionist enemy in the Negev Desert. They stated, "We say to the Palestinians that we are with you, and our military forces are evolving from this battle, and the enemy has noticed the accuracy of hitting the targets drawn in the sea."

Houthis Support Palestinian Resistance Against Israeli Occupation

Senior Hamas and Houthi leaders recently held a rare meeting aimed at coordinating actions against Israel, as per Palestinian sources cited by AFP. A Houthi source confirmed discussions focused on "expanding confrontations and encircling" Israel.

The Houthis have targeted Red Sea shipping since the start of the Israel-Gaza war on October 7. Initially aimed at Israeli-linked vessels in solidarity with Gaza Palestinians, the threat has now extended to other ships in the region.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad sources claim the Houthis pledged to continue attacking Red Sea shipping to "support the Palestinian resistance."

Israel Intensifies Its Assaults on Gaza

Israel's ongoing assaults on Gaza civilians have resulted in the deaths of over 31,923 individuals. The Israeli military claimed to have killed over 140 individuals in its ongoing raid on Gaza City's al-Shifa Hospital, which has now entered its fourth day. Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli forces have also detained Palestinian journalists and health workers at the hospital.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel announced plans to approve a scheme for the evacuation of civilians from Gaza's southern city of Rafah, where more than 1 million people are seeking shelter.

A United States-backed United Nations Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza could be put to a vote as early as this week, according to a diplomatic source.
