A Settler in the Town of Huwwara Was Injured During a Military Operation
The circulated photo depicts David Stern, a former Jewish-American infantry soldier, after he was shot in the head during an attack carried out by a young Palestinian in the town of Huwwara on March 19, 2023.
Israeli accounts and websites published a picture of David Stern in his hospital bed with his wife next to him after he regained consciousness and his condition began to improve.
Laith Nassar, Responsible for Hawara Operation, Apprehended
Palestinian Laith Nassar carried out an operation in the town of Huwwara, south of Nablus, resulting in David Stern sustaining serious injuries. Stern, who was inside his car at the time, was targeted by Nassar, who fired over 20 shots at close range, one of which hit Stern in the head.
Laith Nassar was also injured during the exchange of fire with Stern and tried to escape before being apprehended.
This operation by Laith Nassar was the second operation within three weeks on the same street, just a few meters away from the site of another operation that led to the killing of two settlers on February 26, 2023.
A Commander in Brigade 401’s Operations Room Was Killed
The Israeli occupation forces announced the killing of a commander in the operations room of Brigade 401 during the ongoing battles near the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, west of Gaza City. The same source added that the deceased commander was a reserve officer stationed in the advanced operation room of Brigade 401. This brings the total number of officers and soldiers killed in the Israeli army to 594 since October 7 of last year.
On its part, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), confirmed its continued resistance against the invading occupation forces in the vicinity of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex west of Gaza City. It also broadcasted videos through its official Telegram channel showing its resistance against the occupation forces and the destruction of several of their vehicles.
