Emerging story
Recently, several X accounts circulated a video purporting to show a Palestinian child sleeping on rocks in a refugee camp in the city of Rafah after losing his family. The posts claim that the child traveled four days to reach the camp after his family was killed in the recent Israeli war on Gaza.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the circulating video and found the claim to be misleading.
Misbar's team found that the video dates back to February 2024 for a charity called “Ashiyaana.angels.” The video shows a homeless child sleeping in a mountain, hungry and exhausted, before the charity provides him with much-needed relief, clothes and money.
“Ashiyaana.angels” is a charitable community that gathers donations to help those in need through charitable initiatives, providing essential resources, and spreading awareness about important causes.
