2% of Children in Gaza Killed or Injured in Ongoing War on Gaza

According to Save the Children, nearly 26,000 children in Gaza, which represents just over two percent of the child population, have been killed or injured in the past six months of war. This has resulted in a devastating toll on the health system and disrupted access to education.

Since October 7, the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the Gaza Ministry of Health have reported more than 13,800 child fatalities in Gaza and 113 in the West Bank. Additionally, over 12,009 children in Gaza and at least 725 in the West Bank have sustained injuries. UNICEF has noted that at least 1,000 children have undergone amputations. The majority of hospitals in Gaza have been bombed, leaving only 10 partially operational.

Israeli forces have targeted ambulances, medical aid convoys, and access routes, further deteriorating Gaza's healthcare infrastructure and hindering access to critical medical assistance for the 1.1 million children in Gaza who are in dire need.

Recent Developments of Israeli Aggression in Gaza

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, Israel has killed more than 33,545 people and injured over 76,094 since October 7.

UNICEF reported that one of its vehicles, while waiting to enter northern Gaza from the south, was struck by 'live ammunition.'

In response to increasing international pressure to improve aid delivery amidst a worsening humanitarian situation, Israel has announced the construction of a new crossing to facilitate aid delivery into northern Gaza. Meanwhile, the Palestinian Authority is advocating for global recognition of a Palestinian state by urging the U.N. Security Council to reconsider its application for full membership.
