In 2013, the Turkish Anadolu Agency published this image following the deployment of the Patriot air defense system in Gaziantep, located in southern Turkey.

In January 2013, American Patriot missiles were deployed near the Gaziantep base, situated 50 kilometers north of the Syrian border. This deployment aimed to support Turkey in addressing potential threats arising from the armed conflict in Syria at that time.

According to Turkish media sources, approximately 325 U.S. troops were assigned to operate the Patriot air defense systems, which were requested by Turkey from NATO and subsequently deployed in Gaziantep.

The United States Reinforces Its Presence in the Middle East

Speculation surged following a statement by a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense on Friday, indicating the Pentagon's reinforcement of its presence in the Middle East. This comes as Israel braces for a potential response from Iran after an airstrike on the Tehran embassy in Syria.

According to media reports, the United States intends to deploy additional defense assets in the Middle East. This move aims to strengthen regional deterrence measures and enhance the protection of U.S. forces in the area.

Biden Warns Iran Against Attacking Israel

In statements made on Friday, U.S. President Joe Biden warned Iran against launching an attack on Israel, stating that he predicted the attacks to be “sooner rather than later.”

Biden also reiterated his country's commitment to defending Israel, stating, "We will support Israel; we will help defend Israel, and Iran will not succeed.” 

Media sources have reported Washington’s anticipation of a larger-scale Iranian attack on Israel compared to recent attacks, particularly in the wake of the targeting of the Iranian embassy in Syria. This attack, which occurred on Monday, April 1, resulted in the deaths of leaders and officers from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.
