Emerging story
Recently, accounts on the X platform have circulated a video claiming to depict scenes from Al-Aqsa Mosque. The publishers allege that it shows events unfolding after Palestinians received news of hundreds of Iranian and Yemeni drones and missiles hitting Tel Aviv.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the claim and found it to be misleading, as the circulated video is outdated and does not show scenes from Al-Aqsa Mosque following the news of Yemen and Iran launching hundreds of drones and missiles at Tel Aviv.
Al-Aqsa Mosque Crowds Before Iranian Attack
The video was published on April 5, over a week before the Iranian attack on Israel began. It shows scenes of Palestinians gathering in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque during the previous Ramadan. The audio features an old recording of the chant, “At Your Command, O Al-Aqsa,” added to the video using TikTok’s sound synthesis feature.
On April 5, Palestinian media outlets published footage purportedly shows young men chanting in solidarity with Gaza and the Palestinian resistance. This occurred after they performed the dawn prayer on the last Friday of Ramadan at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Iran Launches Missile Strike on Israel
The video gained traction after Iran launched its anticipated attack on Israel on Saturday evening, in retaliation for Israel's April 1 strike on its consulate in the Syrian city of Damascus. Iran reportedly fired over two hundred drones and missiles into Israel, as confirmed by an Israeli army spokesperson.
In this context, the spokesperson confirmed that the majority of the missiles and drones were intercepted outside Israel's borders. Additionally, minor damage was inflicted on an Israeli military base as a result of the targeting.

The glow from the missiles illuminated the sky over Jerusalem, witnessed and documented by those near the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
