Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar investigated the viral video and found the claim to be misleading.

After conducting a thorough reverse image search, it was determined that the video in question is outdated and does not feature a Palestinian individual raising the Hezbollah flag.

Flag of Fatah's Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades

Contrary to the circulating claim, the flag displayed in the footage is not that of Hezbollah but rather the flag of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a group affiliated with Fatah, the Palestinian National Liberation Movement.

Through meticulous investigation, Misbar's team closely scrutinized the flag at the 1:02 mark in the original video, revealing the emblem corresponding to the symbol of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, not Hezbollah.

Furthermore, the video is outdated, and Orient New’s YouTube channel uploaded the original video on April 18, 2023.

The video translated title reads, “It turned out to be the flag of the Fatah movement and not the Hezbollah militia. This is how the worshipers received him in Al-Aqsa squares.”

Hamas Urges Palestinians to Defend Al-Aqsa Mosque

Hamas has urged Palestinians from the West Bank and Jerusalem to gather at Al-Aqsa Mosque from Friday prayers until Monday, defending it against Israeli occupation. The call aims to thwart the plans of the Israeli occupation and extremist settler groups from desecrating Al-Aqsa's courtyards and performing rituals inside it on Sunday and Monday.

Al-Aqsa Mosque faces constant violations and intrusions by settlers, intending to exert full control over it and divide it temporally and spatially.
