Misbar's team found that the image was captured on November 5, 2023, and depicts flares released by Israeli forces over the Palestinian enclave.

Israeli Forces Initiate Extensive Military Operation in Rafah, Gaza
The claim started to circulate after Israel initiated a military operation in Rafah, the southernmost city of Gaza, taking over a crucial border crossing and severely limiting aid access to the region, just a day before resuming indirect negotiations for a ceasefire agreement.
Photographs released by the Israeli Forces depicted tanks adorned with large Israeli flags advancing through the area, visibly destroying a concrete sign bearing the inscription “I Love Gaza”.
