The video dates back to December 2020, capturing the moment Palestinians in Gaza tore down a picture of the former commander of the Quds Force, Qasem Soleimani, from a large billboard in the area.

The video showed several individuals gathering in front of Soleimani's picture, which was displayed on a large billboard, and tearing it apart as an expression of their anger.

After the video was circulated on social media at that time, media sources reported that the internal security forces affiliated with the Hamas movement summoned Sheikh Majdi Al-Maghribi, a resident of the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, on charges of tearing down Soleimani's picture, then later released him.

The Ongoing Israeli War on Gaza

The claim circulated amidst the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, now entering its 229th day, marked by relentless airstrikes by Israeli forces causing hundreds of casualties and injuries daily since October 7, 2023. The clashes persist between Palestinian resistance factions and Israeli forces in infiltration zones within the territory.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that Israeli forces have committed six massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 62 fatalities and 138 injuries brought to hospitals in the last 24 hours alone. This highlights the increasing toll of Israeli aggression on Gaza, with 35,709 fatalities and 79,990 injuries recorded since the start of the October 7 attack.
