Misbar investigated the claim and found it to be misleading. The video actually depicts Turkish protesters attempting to storm the Israeli consulate in Istanbul in protest of the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital massacre on October 18, 2023.

Demonstrations in Turkey After the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital Massacre

Several Turkish provinces witnessed sit-ins and protest marches against Israel's bombing of the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza. Thousands of Turkish citizens gathered outside the Israeli consulate building to condemn the massacre committed by Israeli forces at the hospital.

During the sit-in, protesters attempted to storm the consulate and attacked the building with fire torches. Security forces intervened to disperse the demonstrators.

In Ankara, protesters gathered outside the Israeli embassy in solidarity with the Palestinian people. They condemned the bombing of the Al-Ahli Hospital and called for the prosecution of those responsible.

On Tuesday, October 17, 2023, demonstrations took place in about 12 Turkish cities, particularly outside the Israeli embassy in Ankara, protesting Israel's bombing of the Al-Mamdani Hospital. This bombing resulted in the deaths of at least 500 Palestinians, predominantly women and children who had sought refuge in the hospital.

Israel Calls on Its Citizens To Leave Turkey

In response to the protests in Turkey, the Israeli National Security Council raised the travel warning for all parts of Turkey, urging citizens not to travel there and calling on Israelis residing in Turkey to leave as soon as possible.

Demonstrations Over Rafah Massacre in Front of Israeli Consulate in Istanbul

On Monday evening, May 27, Turkish protesters gathered outside the Israeli consulate in Istanbul to condemn the massacre committed by Israeli forces in Rafah, southern Gaza. The demonstration, organized by civil society organizations, saw protesters denouncing the Israeli massacre against unarmed Palestinian civilians. They called for an end to the Israeli massacres, the ongoing war against Palestinians, the lifting of the blockade, and the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

Victims of the Rafah Massacre

On Sunday evening, May 26, 45 Palestinians lost their lives and 249 others were injured, mostly children and women, due to Israeli forces targeting the tents of displaced people in the Tel Al-Sultan neighborhood, northwest of Rafah, according to official Palestinian figures.

The Rafah massacre occurred two days after the International Court of Justice issued an order to immediately halt the Israeli ground assault on Rafah.
