Misbarโ€™s Analysis

Misbar investigated the viral video and found the claim to be misleading.

After conducting a thorough reverse image search, Misbarโ€™s team found the circulating footage to be older than claimed.

Old Video of Israeli Military Vehicles Resurfaces Amid Tensions

Contrary to social media usersโ€™ viral claim, the video does not feature Israeli military vehicles heading north toward Lebanon amid ongoing unrest with Hezbollah.

Misbar's investigative team traced the earliest appearance of the video to TikTok in October 2023.

An Israeli TikToker uploaded it on October 12, 2023, without specifying the exact location where it was filmed.

Furthermore, the same video has been circulating on other platforms since October 2023. An X user uploaded it in February 2024, claiming that no one fears an Israeli ground invasion of Lebanon.

The caption reads, "Thanks to anti-tank missiles, #Hezbollah can destroy all these Israeli tanks in a day. Nobody is scared of a ground invasion by Israel."

Israel Approved Plans for an Offensive Against Hezbollah

Israel has declared its readiness for an "all-out war" in Lebanon and has approved plans for an offensive targeting Hezbollah, according to officials. These statements from Israelโ€™s foreign minister and military came in response to Hezbollah's release of threatening drone footage.

The nine-minute drone footage, filmed during the day, showed the Israeli port city of Haifa, including civilian and military areas, malls, residential quarters, a weapons manufacturing complex, and missile defense batteries.

Subsequently, the Israeli military announced that Ori Gordin, head of its Northern Command, which includes the front line with Hezbollah, has approved plans for a ground assault across Israelโ€™s northern border.

Since shortly after the war on Gaza began following the October 7 Operation, Israel and Hezbollah have been engaged in border fighting.

Hezbollah Warns Israel of War With โ€˜No Red Linesโ€™

Hezbollah has vowed a fight with โ€œno red linesโ€ if a full-scale war erupts between Lebanon and Israel, cautioning neighboring Cyprus against getting involved.

During a televised speech at a memorial service for a senior Hezbollah commander killed by an Israeli airstrike, Nasrallah warned that โ€œno place will be safe from our missiles and dronesโ€ if war breaks out between Lebanon and Israel. He also mentioned that Hezbollah has acquired new weapons, though he did not provide specifics. Nasrallah further stated that Hezbollah's fighters now number over 100,000.

The U.N. Secretary-General has warned that a full-scale war between Israel and Hezbollah would be "a catastrophe."
