Contrary to social media users' circulating claim, the video does not show the Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. The video features an Iraqi national living in the U.K. who resembles Cristiano Ronaldo. 

The video was first posted on the TikTok platform, by Bewar Abdullah (@bewarabdullah) on July 20, 2021, with a caption that reads “Eat Mubarek” as a greeting for Eid al-Adha. 

British news media also reported on Bewara’s popularity, according to a report published by the Sun. Uk Abdullah has been attracting global attention due to his resemblance to Cristiano Ronaldo as he left Iraq in 2019 and attracted attention in England due to his striking resemblance with Al Nassr club footballer. 

Video of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Lookalike Reading the Quran in 2021 Goes Viral

A similar misleading claim in the same context went viral in 2021, where social media users circulated a video claiming that Cristiano Ronaldo can be seen reciting the holy book of the Quran.

One user on Facebook shared the video with the caption, “Cristiano Ronaldo reciting the Holy Quran.”

After conducting a thorough reverse image search, we found the viral video posted on the same account (@bewarabdullah) on Tiktok, with a caption that read “Hello.”
