The FBI, in a statement released on Sunday, named 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks as the individual linked to the attempted assassination of Trump.

Attempted Assassination At Campaign Rally Leaves Former President Trump Injured

The image began circulating after the former U.S. President Donald Trump, aged 78, sustained an ear injury during a shooting at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday. At the event, an attempt on Trump's life resulted in the ex-president being bloodied but thankfully not severely harmed, with one audience member and the assailant dead while two other attendees suffered serious injuries.

During the tumult of the shooting incident, Trump was observed touching his ear before being shielded by Secret Service agents and swiftly escorted offstage. He was seen with blood on his face before being driven to safety in an SUV. Trump later confirmed on social media that a bullet had grazed the upper part of his right ear.

The assailant, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, was disclosed by the FBI early Sunday. Bethel Park, a town in Allegheny County near Pittsburgh, has a population of approximately 30,000 residents. FBI authorities indicated that the shooter appeared to be acting alone, with the incident under investigation as both an assassination attempt and a potential case of domestic terrorism.
