Yemen-Israel Ongoing Escalation

In the wake of Israel’s aggressive war on Gaza, the Houthi group in Yemen has launched an unprecedented attack on Tel Aviv, prompting Israeli forces to retaliate by heavily damaging the critical port of Hodeidah.

Since November last year, the Houthis have targeted commercial and military vessels linked to Israel in solidarity with the Palestinians. They vow to continue their attacks until a ceasefire is achieved in Gaza.

Early Friday morning, a drone launched by the Houthis struck a building in central Tel Aviv, approximately 100 meters from a United States Embassy branch office. The strike resulted in one death and ten injuries, unsettling Israeli citizens.

In retaliation, the Israeli military conducted airstrikes on the strategic Yemeni port of Hodeidah, killing at least six people and injuring dozens more.

The Houthis have pledged to persist in their assaults on Israeli targets. On Sunday, the group's military spokesman announced the launch of multiple ballistic missiles at the Israeli port city of Eilat. The Israeli military confirmed intercepting one surface-to-surface missile with its Arrow 3 defense system, capable of neutralizing projectiles outside the atmosphere.

Israel Killed 39,145 Palestinians in Gaza Since October 7

According to the Gaza Government Media Office, at least 129 Palestinians have been killed and hundreds wounded in southern Khan Yunis since Israel's latest attack, with approximately 150,000 residents forced to flee within the past 24 hours.

The office said that Israeli forces are targeting everything on Salah al-Din Street in Khan Yunis and hindering rescue operations for the wounded.

Israel is accused of war crimes in Gaza and the West Bank. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has stated that Israel could be guilty of genocide and declared last week that Israel’s 57-year military occupation of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza is illegal.

The ongoing Israeli war on Gaza has resulted in at least 39,145 deaths and 90,257 injuries since October 7.
