Old Photo of Flying ‘Anti-Semitic’ Blimp Over California
Despite a viral claim on social media, the photo in question does not feature a recent incident of an 'anti-Semitic blimp' flying over New York City. This incident took place in September 2018 in San Francisco, California. The blimp, which displayed the message "Jews Rape Kids," was part of a stunt orchestrated by politician Patrick Little.
Patrick Little attempted to fly the small blimp, named the Jew-Namer 800, over the San Francisco Harbor during the San Francisco Giants' Jewish Heritage Night. However, strong winds and adverse weather conditions prevented the blimp from taking off. In a statement on the blimp's failed flight, he wrote, “Even though a harsh Russian winter stymied Germany on the Eastern Front, still those who fought for freedom soldiered on.”
The photo of the failed blimp attempt, which has been circulating recently, was originally posted by Patrick Little at the time of the event.
Israel Is Weaponizing Anti-Semitism To Continue the War on Gaza
Anti-Semitism is defined as prejudice against or hatred of Jewish people, and it was a fundamental cause of the Holocaust. Israeli leaders sometimes reference this historical context to justify their war on Gaza, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu describing the October 7 operation by Hamas as “the worst act of anti-Semitic violence since the Holocaust.”
However, it is crucial to distinguish between genuine anti-Semitism and legitimate criticism of Israel’s policies and actions, particularly in Gaza. Criticizing Israel's conduct in its war on Gaza should not be conflated with anti-Semitism. Doing so undermines the essential fight against actual anti-Semitic prejudice.
Israel Commences Genocidal Campaign, Killing 39,258 Gazan People
Gaza health officials report that at least 30 people, including children, have been killed and many more wounded after an Israeli airstrike hit a school in Deir el-Balah, central Gaza, which was housing injured and displaced Palestinians. Since October 7, Israel's genocidal campaign has resulted in at least 39,258 deaths and 90,589 injuries.
According to the U.N.’s humanitarian aid agency, hundreds of Palestinians remain trapped in eastern Khan Yunis due to ongoing Israeli hostilities, with rescue teams unable to access the area because of restrictions imposed by the Israeli military. In addition, the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs stated that the average daily volume of humanitarian aid entering Gaza has decreased by 56 percent since April, contributing to widespread starvation and fears of disease.
