Ismail Haniyeh Laid To Rest in Qatar Amid Global Condolences
The circulation of the claim follows the burial of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Iran on Wednesday. His funeral, conducted with Muslim rites in Qatar, began with prayers at the Imam Muhammed bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque, the largest mosque in the country. After the prayers, his body was transported in a coffin covered with the Palestinian flag to a cemetery in Lusail, north of Doha.
The funeral was attended by several international officials, including Turkey’s Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. The event was highly secured and drew prominent figures from both Hamas and its Palestinian rival, Fatah, along with members of the public.
