Netanyahu Shared Video of Himself Walking in Tel Aviv in 2022
On September 1, 2022, Benjamin Netanyahu’s X account shared a video of him walking in Tel Aviv. The post included a message: “Thanks to everyone who greeted me while I was strolling along the boardwalk. Love you guys!”
In September 2022, Netanyahu was promoting his electoral program in preparation for the Israeli elections held in November of the same year.
Netanyahu won the election thanks to strategies that included increasing voter turnout among the Haredi and far-right communities, which boosted his vote count compared to his opponents.
The final results showed that Netanyahu’s bloc secured 64 seats, allowing him to form a right-wing government with a clear majority. His victory followed an increase in overall voter turnout to 71 percent, with notable increases in voting rates in right-leaning areas, while turnout in central and left-leaning areas remained relatively stable.
Reports: Netanyahu Blocks Ceasefire Talks
Israeli sources indicate that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is responsible for obstructing ceasefire negotiations in Gaza and the prisoner exchange deal.
The sources explained that Netanyahu continues to make new demands aimed at disrupting the agreement process. He insists on not withdrawing from the Philadelphi Route along the Gaza-Egypt border and the Netzarim Junction, which divides the Gaza Strip into two parts.
During a previous meeting with families of Israeli prisoners in Gaza, Netanyahu emphasized that "Israel will not withdraw under any circumstances from the Philadelphi Corridor and the Netzarim Junction, despite the pressure."
Meanwhile, the families of the Israeli prisoners are demanding a prisoner exchange deal at any cost.
In this context, Israeli Mossad chief David Barnea has expressed concerns that Netanyahu’s insistence on new demands in negotiations with Hamas is hindering a ceasefire agreement and the return of prisoners. Additionally, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has warned that Netanyahu's insistence on controlling the Philadelphi Route could undermine the exchange deal.
