In the video, individuals can be heard shouting, "Get your hand off his neck!" and "You're choking him!" at one suspect, while a woman in a green coat grabs an officer's vest and pulls him backward until another officer moves her away.

The two officers immediately lose control of the suspect as the same woman grabs his wrist again and forces him to the ground. One officer was taken to the hospital for treatment and has since been discharged. A second officer received treatment for minor injuries.

In addition, two 16-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker. A 54-year-old woman was also detained on charges of being drunk and disorderly. All three remain in custody.

Chief Superintendent Simon Crick of the Metropolitan Police said in a statement, “Once again, we have seen officers assaulted while responding to a call for help from a member of the public.”

Fake News Spreads About British Police Conduct

Fake news circulating on social media has increased against the British police in the United Kingdom. Following a stabbing in Southport on July 29 that killed three children and injured several others, violent riots erupted across England and Northern Ireland. Misbar's team has debunked many videos circulating on social media related to U.K. police.

A video of a British girl being detained recently gained traction on X, leading many to mistakenly believe police were holding an innocent child. However, it was later confirmed to be from July and unrelated to the current U.K. riots.

This Girl Was Not Arrested During Recent Riots in Britain

Additionally, another outdated video falsely depicting Manchester police detaining 22 people amid unrest was widely shared. Misbar's investigation revealed that this video shows police raiding drug dealers, not dealing with the ongoing riots.

“Since July 29, police have made a total of 1,280 arrests and identified hundreds more suspects in connection with the disorder. Together, policing and the CPS have brought a total of 796 charges,” the National Police said.

In a statement released on August 30, the NPCC stated that law enforcement officials nationwide have been making significant efforts to apprehend those implicated in the rioting and encouraging hate speech on the internet, as well as to identify and prosecute them.
