Amid the ongoing Hezbollah-Israel tensions, social media users widely shared a video clip purporting to feature Hezbollah striking an Israeli base with guided missiles, resulting in total destruction.

Most of the video spreaders shared the video, along with the caption, “Hezbollah Hits Israeli Base By Guided Missiles And Causes Complete Destruction.”

Misbar investigated the viral footage and found the claim to be misleading.

After conducting a thorough reverse image search, Misbar’s team found the footage making the rounds to be outdated and unrelated to the Hezbollah-Israel unrest. and the Gaza war.

Outdated Video of Chemical Plant Explosion in China

Contrary to the viral social media claim linking the footage to the recent Hezbollah-Israel tensions, the video is not recent.

Misbar’s investigative team traced the original video back to November 2015, showing a chemical plant explosion in China. "Military.com" shared the footage and reported that the incident took place on November 17, 2015, in Zhejiang province.

Moreover, a YouTube channel uploaded the same video on November 19, 2015, as showing a "Chinese chemical plant explosion."

Israel Airstrikes on Southern Lebanon Kill Hezbollah Special Forces Commander

According to CNN, Israel carried out multiple airstrikes on southern Lebanon on September 11, including one that killed a senior Hezbollah commander.
