Hezbollah Rockets Targeted Northern Israel in August 2021
The video was recorded on August 6, 2021, and shows rockets fired by Hezbollah toward Israeli forces stationed in northern Israel.
At that time, the group announced it had launched dozens of rockets toward the Shebaa Farms in response to Israeli airstrikes targeting southern Lebanon, amid mutual attacks between the two sides.
The Israeli army reported that sirens were activated in northern Israel and the Golan Heights, while its spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, stated that the Iron Dome intercepted the rockets launched from southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah Launches Missile Attacks on Israeli Bases
The video began circulating after Hezbollah announced on Saturday that it had targeted a battalion center belonging to the Golani Brigade and the Zar'it post with Katyusha rockets, amid escalating tensions along the Lebanese-Israeli border that suggest an imminent war.
The group stated in a release that it struck the deployment center of Reconnaissance Battalion 631, part of the Golani Brigade, at the Israeli Ramot Naftali base and the Zar'it post with rocket fire, claiming its strikes resulted in direct hits.
Israeli Airstrikes on Lebanon and Temporary Airspace Closure
The Israeli army launched a wave of airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon. Meanwhile, sirens sounded in several towns in northern Israel in anticipation of rockets fired by Hezbollah toward the area.
The Israeli army decided to close its airspace over northern areas for 24 hours. Media outlets reported that civil aviation authorities stated the airspace closure would begin in the Hadera area, located between Haifa and Tel Aviv.
Moreover, they explained that the army's decision aims to reduce the risk of mistakenly intercepting Israeli aircraft by the air defense system.
