Gas Station Explosion in Russia in 2021

Misbar also found another video capturing the explosion from different angles, which was shared in June 2021. The uploader claimed it captured an explosion at a gas station in the Russian city of Novosibirsk.

The geographic landmarks in the circulating video match those in the explosion footage.

On June 14, 2021, Russian media reported that a fire broke out at a gas station on the Gusinobrodskoye Highway in Novosibirsk, leading to a series of explosions that spread across an area of 1,000 square meters.

The reports stated that four to five consecutive explosions occurred, resulting in flames engulfing 1,000 square meters. More than 25 people were injured in the incident, but no fatalities were recorded. The investigative committee of the Russian Federation in Novosibirsk has since opened a criminal case regarding the incident.

A representative from Eurogaz, the company that owns the gas station, said the fire started while a vehicle was being refueled. Yevgeny Lebedev, a representative of the local administration of the Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies, and Disaster Relief (MChS), clarified that the fire was caused by the improper positioning of a gas tanker during the unloading of fuel into a stationary container. As a precaution, traffic in the area was subsequently restricted. According to an MChS statement, the response involved 66 personnel and 19 units of equipment, including 45 staff members and 12 pieces of machinery from the ministry.

Hezbollah Announces Bombing of Haifa

The spread of this misleading video coincided with Hezbollah's announcement on Tuesday, September 24, claiming that it had bombarded the city of Haifa in northern occupied Palestine with numerous consecutive rocket strikes. This action was framed as a response to Israeli attacks on Lebanon and an expression of solidarity with Palestinian resistance factions.

In its statement, Hezbollah asserted that it targeted the Eliakim military camp, part of the Northern Command located south of Haifa, using Fadi 2 missiles. The group also reported conducting 18 strikes on Israeli military sites and settlements on the same day.

Additionally, Hezbollah announced that it had launched dozens of Fadi 1 and Fadi 2 missiles, along with Katyusha rockets, at the military industrial complex of the Rafael company, which specializes in electronic devices and equipment located in northern Haifa. This action is part of the ongoing escalation with Israel.

Israeli media reported that air raid sirens were activated in areas south of Haifa, including Tiberias, Safed, and Acre, urging residents to remain close to shelters. The Israeli army confirmed that rockets had struck Isfiya and Daliyat al-Karmel, resulting in moderate injuries to one resident.

In response, Benny Gantz issued a warning, stating that Israel would consider launching a ground offensive in Lebanon if Hezbollah persisted with its rocket attacks.
