Emerging story
Recently, an image was widely shared on social media platforms claiming that it depicts the first photo of Israel’s Ramat David airbase in occupied Palestine after being struck by Hezbollah.
The photo was also shared by The Times of India (TOI) in its report on Hezbollah strikes at David Ramat.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the viral image and found it to be fake.
An AI-Generated Photo
The image was not shared by any credible media outlet which reported on the strike of Ramat David, which raised suspicion of the authenticity of the image.
After analyzing the photo, Misbar’s team found that the image in question is an AI-generated photo. There are several distortions and unclear outlines that could be noted in the photo.
The shape of the vehicles shown in the photo does not look anything like the shape of the known standard models found on military bases.
It could also be noted that the text written on the vehicle closest to the camera is unreadable and distorted, which is a clear indication of AI manipulation.
Also, the lighting and the shadows that could be noted when observing the sky in the photo seem inconsistent and do not seem natural.
Finally, the unnatural form of fire and smoke in the image is also clear evidence that this photo was manipulated by AI software programs.

The airbase was targeted with a salvo of Fadi-1 and Fadi-2 missiles. The IOF reported that only 10 rockets were fired in the salvo, most of which were intercepted.
In its statement after the attack on Sunday 22, Hezbollah stated these attacks were intended to support the Gaza Strip and its militant groups.
On the following day, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health announced that 492 people were killed and 1645 were wounded after Israel launched hundreds of missiles on the south and the east of Lebanon.
The Israeli bombing was described as the most violent since October 8, 2023. All of the schools and universities in Lebanon were closed and educational institutions were opened to shelter those displaced as a result of the heavy bombing.
