Outdated Video of Explosion at Gas Station in Aden, Yemen
Contrary to social media users’ claim, the video is neither recent nor related to the recent Israeli airstrike in the Bekaa region. The footage dates back to August 2024 and was filmed in Yemen, not Lebanon. It was uploaded to a YouTube channel on August 31, depicting an explosion in Aden, Yemen.
Misbar's investigative team looked into the explosions reported on August 31 in Yemen and found similar videos online that were identified as footage of an explosion at a gas station in Aden, Yemen.
Massive Explosions at a Gas Station in Aden, Yemen
Powerful explosions rocked a residential neighborhood in Aden, Yemen, following blasts from a gas station in the Mansourah district. The disaster claimed five lives and injured six others, sparking widespread panic among the densely populated community. The explosion also caused significant damage to nearby shops and buildings. Aden's Security Department confirmed the death toll at five, with dozens more injured, some critically.
In response, Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak visited the scene to assess the destruction. He directed an immediate review of gas station licenses and called for accountability for those violating safety standards. The prime minister stressed the importance of implementing comprehensive safety measures and emergency plans to avoid future incidents.
Israel Launches a Ground Offensive in Lebanon
Israel has launched a ground offensive in Lebanon, with Israeli troops advancing into southern Lebanese villages, as announced by the Israeli military. The incursions, described as "targeted ground raids," began early Tuesday and were backed by air strikes and artillery.
Meanwhile, air strikes were heard in Beirut, and smoke was seen rising from the city’s southern suburbs after Israeli forces ordered residents to evacuate certain buildings.
