Misbar investigated the circulating claim and found it to be misleading, as the video is old and does not show fires in Tel Aviv after the recent Iranian attack on Israel.

Explosion at Gas Station in Aden

The video was published at the end of August 2024 and shows an explosion in a residential neighborhood in Aden, southern Yemen. This explosion was followed by a massive fire and a large fireball rising into the air due to the blast at a domestic gas station.

Local media reported that the fire resulted from an explosion at a gas station on 90th Street in the Mansoura district, north of Aden, leading to several fatalities and injuries.

The footage shows a massive plume of fire rising into the sky, with thick smoke billowing from the scene, causing panic and fear among residents in the area.

Iran Launches Ballistic Missile Attack on Israel

The misleading claim circulated following the announcement by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard that it launched a ballistic missile attack on Israel on the evening of Tuesday, October 1.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated that the attack was in response to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas's political bureau, in Tehran in late July, as well as the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah in the southern suburbs of Beirut last Friday.

In another statement, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard added that the attacks targeted strategic sites in Israel, including air bases, radar stations, and "centers for conspiracy and planning assassinations against resistance leaders," according to the Revolutionary Guard's statement.

Israel Vows To Retaliate Against Iranian Attack

Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari stated that Iranian rockets directly struck areas in central and southern Israel. He added that the Israeli military would respond to these attacks and noted that a significant number of Iranian rockets had been intercepted.

In a press conference following the attack, Hagari indicated that the Iranian rockets did not cause any damage to the air force's operational efficiency, its aircraft, or the defense and surveillance systems. He also mentioned that the air force would continue to conduct significant operations in the Middle East that night.

Hagari revealed a close collaboration between Israeli and American air defense systems in detecting and intercepting Iranian rockets.
