This Video Does Not Show a Missile Hitting an Israeli Tank at the Lebanese Border

Misbar investigated the claim and found it to be misleading, as the video is old and from Ukraine, not showing a Kornet missile targeting an Israeli Merkava tank on the Lebanese border.

Targeting a Russian Tank in Ukraine

The video dates back to October 2023 and was published by Ukrainian media at that time, claiming to show the destruction of a Russian T-90 tank by Ukrainian forces in the Lyman area of eastern Ukraine.

Reports indicated that the Ukrainian military released the footage, stating it depicted successful strikes against the latest tanks in Russian service. Soldiers from the 66th Mechanized Brigade were able to destroy a Russian T-90M tank with a guided anti-tank missile. The footage shows the tank engulfed in flames after being hit directly by Ukrainian forces.

Hezbollah Claims Destruction of Israeli Tanks on Lebanon Border

Hezbollah announced the destruction of three Israeli tanks with guided missiles while they advanced toward towns in southern Lebanon on Wednesday. The attacks also resulted in casualties among Israeli soldiers in separate incidents targeting northern Israeli settlements.

In a series of statements, Hezbollah confirmed that its forces targeted a gathering of Israeli soldiers in these settlements with missiles.

Hezbollah claimed its fighters confronted Israeli forces attempting to advance into the town of Adaisseh, engaging them and inflicting losses that forced the troops to retreat. The Israeli army later reported the deaths of eight of its soldiers in those clashes.

Moreover, the group revealed that its forces ambushed an Israeli infantry unit that infiltrated a home on the outskirts of Kfarkila. They detonated a pre-prepared explosive device before unleashing a barrage of machine-gun fire and rockets, resulting in casualties among the infiltrating soldiers.

Israel Escalates Its Airstrikes on Lebanon

The Israeli army announced a precise strike in the Lebanese capital, Beirut. Media reports indicated that one of the Israeli airstrikes targeted the Bachoura area in Beirut, with additional strikes launched on the southern suburbs of the city. The Israeli attacks also hit the town of Khyam in southern Lebanon.

Sources affiliated with Hezbollah stated that "an Israeli infiltration force from the Malakiyeh site fell into a resistance ambush on the outskirts of Aytaroun in southern Lebanon."
