An Outdated Clip of Hamas Fighters Shared as Recent Footage of Radwan Forces
The fighters in the video are Hamas fighters (X)

The Claim

The dead of the Zionist enemy are under the feet of the Radwan forces. The picture of Hezbollah's heroic martyr Ibrahim Haidar is shared on these Zionists as the oath of revenge has been fulfilled.

Emerging story

Recently, a video on X circulated claiming to show fighters of Radwan forces, the elite Hezbollah brigade, stomping on the head of an Israeli soldier while holding a photo of Ibrahim Haidar.

Misbar investigated the viral video and found it to be misleading.

Scenes of Hamas Fighters in Al-Aqsa Flood Operation

Through reverse Google image search, Misbar’s team found the video to be outdated.

The video dates back to October 7, 2023, in Nahal Oz. The fighters in the video are Hamas fighters, not Radwan forces fighters.

Misbar’s team traced the video and found it was trimmed from a 1-minute clip originally published on the official Telegram channel of Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, captioned, “New scenes of the capture of the Nahal Oz site east of Gaza as part of the Al-Aqsa Flood battle”

The video was published on October 7, 2023, when Hamas fighters stormed the cities near the Gaza Strip.

The viral footage can be found in the second 54 of the official video.

The Man Pictured In The Photo Is A Fallen IOF Soldier, Not Hezbollah’s Ibrahim Haidar

Users sharing the outdated video also claimed that the picture held by one of the fighters in the clip belonged to Ibrahim Haidar. A martyred fighter from the elite Radwan forces who was widely admired after appearing in a video released by the Israeli media where he was calmly switching between his machine gun and RPG fighting Israeli forces under fire.

Misbar’s team found that the photograph that appeared in the viral video did not belong to Ibrahim Haidar. The photo belonged to an Israeli fallen soldier named Amit Ben Yigal, who was killed in 2020.

By comparing a photograph of the IOF soldier Amit Ben Yigal with the photograph shown in the possession of the fighter in the viral video, it could be noted that the photograph belonged to the IOF soldier, not Hezbollah’s Ibrahim Haidar.

Nahal Oz Under The Control Of Hamas Fighters On October 7

Nahal Oz base which is located on the borders of the Gaza Strip was raided and completely controlled by Hamas fighters on October 7, 2023, which marked the deadliest day in the history of Israel.

More than 60 Israeli soldiers were reported to have been killed and many were reported to have been imprisoned by Hamas fighters that morning.

A new BBC investigation into the operation revealed that Israeli troops were unarmed and official protocols had them standing back instead of advancing. Surveillance equipment was out of action or destroyed by Hamas with ease.

The investigation raises questions about why most Israeli soldiers were not armed at the base, why nothing was done to respond to the intelligence and warnings that had been received, and why it took the reinforcements so long to arrive.

However, when such questions were raised with the IOF, the response was that it was still running a “thorough investigation into the events of October 7th, including those in Nahal Oz, and the circumstances preceding.”
