Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar investigated the viral video and found the claim to be misleading.

Through a reverse image search, Misbar’s investigative team found the two-scene video to be outdated and unrelated to any recent strike targeting Israeli soldiers.

Outdated Clips Shared as a Strike on Israeli Soldiers

Contrary to social media users’ viral claim, the video does not feature a real strike on Israeli soldiers who gathered for a dinner.

Misbar’s investigation found that the first scene of the video shows a group of Israeli soldiers having iftar in Ramadan 2022.

The Israeli spokesperson, Captain Ella, uploaded the video on YouTube on April 21, 2022, and commented that the video features the Israeli Desert Reconnaissance Battalion having Iftar in Ramadan.

Israeli military spokespeople often share such videos as part of propaganda efforts aimed at portraying Israel as a peaceful country, although it is actively committing atrocities in Gaza and Lebanon.

Misbar’s investigative team traced the second scene of the viral video back to September 2023, a month before the Israel-Gaza war began.

The original video is related to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. A Russian website published the video on September 7, 2023, saying it features a Russian FPV drone strike targeting Ukrainian soldiers.

Hezbollah Drone Strikes Israeli Soldiers at Military Base, Killing Four

On October 13, 2024, a deadly Hezbollah attack on a military base deep within Israeli territory posed a significant challenge for Israel. This comes despite Israel's extensive bombardment and ground operations against Hezbollah.

A drone launched from southern Lebanon penetrated Israeli air defenses and struck the Golani Brigade’s base, located about 40 miles from the border.

The attack occurred during dinner, hitting the base’s dining hall. While the military has withheld specific details about the impact, photos from the scene confirm the dining hall was the target.

Four soldiers were killed, and over 60 others were injured, with eight suffering serious injuries.

At least 12 strikes in the suburbs of Beirut were reported after announcing an operation targeting the offices of Hezbollah's al-Qard al-Hassan financial institution.

Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported that 11 strikes hit Beirut’s southern suburbs, with many directed at al-Qard al-Hassan. Additional strikes targeted branches in Lebanon's eastern Bekaa Valley and the southern regions of the country.

In response, Hezbollah announced that it had downed an Israeli drone, saying its air defense units successfully shot down an Israeli Hermes 450 drone.

Meanwhile, Lebanon's Health Ministry reported that an Israeli airstrike on the eastern city of Baalbek hit a building in a densely populated residential area, killing six people, including a child.
