Emerging story
During the Israeli invasion of Lebanon, social media users widely circulated a video clip purporting to show newly released footage of Hezbollah's winter special forces training.
An X user shared the footage, along with the caption, “HEZBOLLAH releases new winter SPECIAL FORCES training video.”
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the viral footage and found the claim to be misleading.
After conducting a thorough reverse image search, Misbar’s team found the video to be older than claimed.
Old Video Shows Hezbollah Military Training in the Snow
Contrary to social media users’ viral claim, Hezbollah did not release the video recently.
Misbar’s investigative team traced the original video back to February 2022. Al Mayadeen Channel uploaded the video to YouTube on February 17, 2022.
The video shows two clips: one showing Hezbollah's military exercises in the snow, and the other featuring Al-Qassam Palestinian resistance capabilities.
According to the video's description, both Hezbollah and Al-Qassam convey a visual message of preparedness to counter the Israeli occupation with advanced combat skills.
Euro News also published the same footage on February 26, 2022, under the translated title, “Hezbollah fighters show off their combat skills in the snow and the party begins manufacturing drones.”
Moreover, Euro News reported that Hezbollah announced that the party is capable of producing drones and converting thousands of its missiles into precision-guided weapons.
Hezbollah’s Rockets Target Central Israel

Hezbollah announced it targeted a military base near Tel Aviv. Israel’s ambulance service confirmed that shrapnel injured 11 people.
In recent days, two separate Hezbollah rocket strikes also killed seven people in northern Israel, marking the deadliest day from such strikes in months.
A week ago, Hezbollah issued orders for the immediate evacuation of 25 settlements in northern Israel, warning residents that these areas are now “legitimate military targets.”
The targeted settlements include Kiryat Shmona, Yasod HaMa'ala, Ayelet HaShachar, Hatzor HaGalilit, Karmiel, Ma'alot Tarshiha, Even Menachem, Nahariya, Rosh Pina, Shamir, Sha’al, Miron, Kabri, Abirim, Dalton, Nefat Ziv, Qatzrin, Kfar Hananya, Manot, Beit HaAmik, Kfar Vradim, Harashim, Birya, Kfar Tzvi, and Bar Yohai.
Israeli Attacks on Lebanon Claimed 2,897 Lives
On Friday, Lebanon’s health ministry reported that Israeli strikes in the Baalbek region claimed 52 lives. The ministry further confirmed that the death toll in the country has now reached 2,897.
The IOF announced on Saturday that it had killed two Hezbollah commanders in Tyre.
Reuters reported that hopes for a ceasefire between the Israeli military and Palestinian resistance along with Hezbollah faded on Friday, as Israeli airstrikes killed at least 68 people in the Gaza Strip and hit Beirut’s southern suburbs.
