HANNUKAH IN YEMEN: Israeli air strikes are targeting Houthi infrastructure.

Emerging story
Recently, social media users have been circulating a video that allegedly depicts Israeli air strikes aimed at Houthi infrastructure in Yemen during Hanukkah 2024.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the circulating video and found the claim to be misleading.
Misbar's team found that the video originates from the attack on the port of Hodeidah on July 20, 2024, and is not connected to the Thursday strike by Israeli warplanes on Yemen's capital, Sanaa, international airport.
According to a France 24 news article from that time, Israeli fighter jets targeted Houthi military installations near the Hodeidah port in Yemen on July 20, 2024. This action followed a drone strike on Israel's economic center, Tel Aviv, launched by the Iranian-backed group just a day earlier.
The airstrikes, which aimed at oil facilities and a power station in Hodeidah, resulted in at least three fatalities and over 80 injuries, many of which were severe burns, as reported by Al-Masirah TV, the main news outlet associated with Yemen's Houthi movement, citing the health ministry. Residents of Hodeidah informed Reuters via phone that loud explosions were heard throughout the city during the heavy bombardment, and Al-Masirah TV reported that civil defense teams and firefighters were working to extinguish fires in the port's oil tanks.
U.S. Conducts Airstrikes on Houthi Targets in Sanaa Amid Tensions
The circulation of the claim came after The United States military has announced it carried out airstrikes against sites associated with Houthi rebels in Yemen's capital, Sanaa, including a missile storage facility and a command-and-control center. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), which manages military operations in the Middle East, stated on Saturday that the goal of the strikes was to "disrupt and degrade Houthi operations." A senior official from the Houthi movement condemned the U.S. actions as "terrorist attacks."
Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of the Supreme Political Council of the Yemeni rebels, expressed on X, “The American terrorist attacks confirm the lawless rampage and criminality in the region.” He further commented, “The reckless terrorist actions against Yemen do not stop the support [for Gaza].”
CENTCOM also reported that the Iran-aligned group has previously targeted U.S. Navy and merchant vessels in the Red Sea, Bab El-Mandeb, and the Gulf of Aden. Later on Sunday, the U.S. military revealed that two of its navy pilots were shot down over the Red Sea in what appeared to be friendly fire. Both pilots were rescued, but initial assessments indicated that one of the crew members suffered minor injuries, according to CENTCOM.
Israeli Military Forces Evacuation of Last Operational Hospital in Northern Gaza Amid Ongoing Strikes
One of the last operational hospitals in northern Gaza has been forcibly evacuated by the Israeli military, according to medics, after a series of strikes reportedly killed dozens in the vicinity of the healthcare facility. Eid Sabbah, head of the nursing department at Kamal Adwan Hospital, informed the BBC that around 7:00 AM on Friday, the military gave the hospital administration only 15 minutes to evacuate patients and staff to the courtyard.
Following this notice, Israeli troops entered the hospital to remove the remaining patients. The military did not disclose the destination for these patients, although an Israeli official indicated earlier in the week that those at Kamal Adwan Hospital would be relocated to the Indonesian hospital, which had already been evacuated by the military on Tuesday.
Dr. Sabbah expressed concern over the evacuation, stating, "It's dangerous because there are patients in the ICU department in a coma and in need of ventilation machines, and moving them will put them in danger." He added that if the army continues to transfer these patients, specialized vehicles will be necessary.
Dr. Yousef Abu-Al Rish, Gaza's deputy minister of health, later told the BBC that seriously ill patients had been moved to the Indonesian hospital, which, he noted, was nonfunctional due to a lack of generators and water.
