2015 Earthquake in Nepal
Misbar's team found that the video was published in 2015.
Setopati shared the video on their YouTube channel, stating that it depicts the April 2015 earthquake in Nepal, which occurred in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu.
According to the BBC, Nepal was initially struck by two major earthquakes in 2015. The first, on April 25, was a 7.8-magnitude quake that caused most of the destruction and loss of life. It was followed by several aftershocks, including one on May 12, 2015, which measured 7.3 in magnitude. These aftershocks contributed to the widespread damage.
Earthquake Near Tibet’s Holiest City Kills at Least 95
A magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck the northern foothills of the Himalayas near Tibet’s sacred city on Tuesday, killing at least 95 people. The quake hit at 9:05 a.m. (0105 GMT) with its epicenter located in Tingri, a rural county known as the northern gateway to the Everest region. The tremor, at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles), also shook buildings in neighboring Nepal, Bhutan, and India. The U.S. Geological Survey recorded the quake’s magnitude at 7.1, while Chinese authorities reported the lower figure.
The quake has caused significant damage in Tibet, with at least 95 confirmed deaths and 130 injuries on the Chinese side, according to state-run television. No fatalities have been reported in neighboring countries. The region, frequently affected by earthquakes due to the collision of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates, is located about 80 km (50 miles) north of Mount Everest, a popular site for climbers and trekkers.
According to China Xinhua News, "Rescuers are working hard to save lives and have successfully rescued four buried cows, offering hope to affected families."
