Misbar investigated the circulating video and found the claim to be misleading.
A thorough reverse image search found the video making the rounds to be outdated and unrelated to recent fires in the U.S.
Old Video Shows House Engulfed in Fire in Australia
Contrary to social media users’ viral claim, the footage is unrelated to the ongoing fires in the United States.
Misbar’s team traced the original video to December 17, 2024. A TikTok account uploaded it, depicting a house engulfed in flames in Southern Australia as tradies rescued an elderly woman trapped inside.
Another YouTube channel uploaded the same video on December 17, 2024, reporting that it shows the moment two tradies rescued an elderly woman from her burning home in Adelaide's western suburbs in Australia.
Workers Rescue Elderly Woman from Massive Fire in Adelaide, Australia
According to Daily Mail, a massive blaze tore through a Harold Street property in Seaton, located in Adelaide's north-west.
Solar installer Mike Ajami and his co-worker, driving past during their lunch break, spotted the fire and immediately took action.
They found a 70-year-old woman in the backyard, clinging to a tree after she suffered burns. Footage captured the pair jumping over the fence, with one of the workers shouting at the woman to escape.
The tradies lifted her over the fence to safety. Emergency responders rushed her to the hospital, where doctors treated her for serious injuries, including multiple burns.

Four major wildfires continue to burn across Los Angeles County, claiming at least 10 lives, with officials cautioning that the final death toll will remain uncertain until investigators can safely access affected neighborhoods.

The wildfires devastated entire neighborhoods, destroying at least 10,000 properties.
